The Ancient World Web

The Ancient World Web - which celebrated it's 11th birthday in May, 2005 - was the oldest meta-index to websites dealing with the ancient world on the Internet when it was finally shuttered in the summer of 2005. It began as a simple list of bookmarks, and went through two major information architecture revamps, three technology upgrades, four redesigns (the last into being pure HTML and CSS with no old-style HTML layout hacks), and several periods of no activity as the demands of my job at the time overwhelmed my free time.
